Growing up in Africa’s wildlife and safari industry, far from cities and development seems a strange breeding ground for a town planner. Seeing grinding poverty in rural Africa, where ineffective government and a lack basic services kept people on the struggle prompted Cecil to pursue a career where he can make a difference.
After considering politics, religion and teaching, Cecil came to the conclusion that town and regional planning is a ticket to work over the world, and make a real difference to the lives of ordinary people. He is fortunate to have travel genes in his body, and managed to work as a town and regional planner and project manager in seven African countries, see many wonderful places, implement great projects and finally settle in Australia.
Cecil gets a kick out of achieving things other people say is not possible. He loves helping to implement strategies and leading change.
